Barbara was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1986 and the New Mexico Bar in 1999. She attended Indiana University (B.A., cum laude, 1982) and the University of Florida (J.D. with Honors, 1986). She is a University of Florida, Levin College of Law Moot Court member. She is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, The Florida Bar, The New Mexico Bar and the American Bar Association. Barbara was recognized in Florida Trend Legal Elite in 2016, Best Lawyers in Tampa Bay Area, The Wall Street Journal in 2018, Best Lawyers in America in Real Estate Law in 2014-2015, and a finalist for Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2006 Business Woman of the Year. For over 35 years, Barbara has received an AV® Preeminent™ designation, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review rating system. She has over 35 years of experience in all facets of commercial real estate. Her experience includes negotiating, documenting and closing the acquisition, development, financing, sale and leasing of commercial properties, including apartment, hotel, restaurant, retail, office, nursing home and golf course communities, large vacant land tracts, condominium and mixed use (retail, office and residential) developments. She represents developers, lenders, borrowers, commercial landlords and tenants, individuals and businesses. Barbara has expertise in title insurance matters and served on the 13th Circuit Advisory for The Attorneys Title Insurance Fund. She previously practiced in a multistate firm and is happy to be back practicing with attorneys she practiced with for many years at the beginning of her career. When Barbara is not practicing law, she enjoys hiking, traveling and time with her family.
